Your Lighting and Controls Solution

USGBC Resilient Design Studio - March 6 In-Depth Seminar

Tuesday, March 6, 2018 - 3:00pm to 5:00pm

Review resilient design solutions as applied to K-12 facilities and participate in an interactive design charrette!

FGM Architects, in partnership with Washington University and the Rockwood School District, developed an undergraduate/graduate level studio project that analyzed resilient design in educational facilities. The design project was a new local 100,000 sf elementary school that specifically incorporated resilient design elements into the site design and building architecture.

This seminar will evaluate this project through a shocks and stresses assessment and resilient design analysis. Attendees will then participate in an interactive design charrette where they incorporate these resilient design elements for both the site and building design solutions.

Faculty and students from the WashU studio will participate in this program - sharing their learning experiences and presenting their design solutions to this real world resilient design program.

Learning Objectives

  • Evaluate Shocks and Stresses Assessment and Resilient Design Analysis
  • Review resilient design solutions provided by WashU students as part of their studio project
  • Participate in an interactive design charrette
  • Incorporate resilient design elements into both site and building features and identify specific design strategies
